With Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford rather predictably picking up some criticism after he failed to find the back of the net in the Nottingham Forest clash, there were always going to be some question marks over him as manager Marcelo Bielsa continued with his faith in him for the Wigan Athletic clash on Saturday afternoon.
34' GGGGGGGOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLL!!! PATRICK BAMFORD OPENS THE SCORING FOR #LUFC!!! 0-1
— Leeds United (@LUFC) August 17, 2019
Having utterly dominated the first half in our usual fashion under our Argentine gaffer, chances certainly came, but efforts on target remained disappointing. Bamford did get himself on the scoresheet in the 34th minute though and that should continue to do his confidence wonders and it’s fair to say in light of the criticism thrown at him from some quarters of the Elland Road faithful, his supporters weren’t going to let the moment go.
2 goals in 3 starts shocking from the lad

Made me smile anyway as the more support he gets the better, well, you can hardly doubt his goal return at this level can you in reality. Completing his brace on the day should further quieten his doubters.
